Deepen 2026

Deepen:

in the Word

for the Work

Monday afternoon 19th January

to

Wednesday lunchtime 21st January

Whether you preach regularly or occasionally, whether it’s your “day job” or something you do voluntarily, whether you open up the Bible in the gathered congregation, in a home, in a school, or in another setting, the aim of Deepen is to help and encourage us to “up our game”, and work at our Bible teaching.

A core conviction of Gospel Partnerships across the UK is that the means of gospel ministry is the prayerful teaching of the Bible. It is as the Bible is taught in the power of the Spirit that God’s voice is heard.

We long that, across the region, God’s word might be proclaimed ever more faithfully, engagingly and compellingly, and that “the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honoured”.

For next year’s Deepen conference, we’ve struck an excellent deal with the Queen’s Hotel, Paignton, to provide us with accommodation and meals. And we’re delighted that John Samuel, the FIEC’s area director for Dorset and Hampshire, and a regular contributor to Proclamation Trust conferences, will be joining us as our main speaker.

But it’s not going to be just lectures and more lectures!  We’re also looking to split into smaller groups for people with comparable levels of experience, led (sensitively!) by more local folk, so that we can all make progress together, “iron sharpening iron”, in this immensely privileged work of “rightly handling the Word of God” – again, whoever our intended hearers might be.

Here’s the draft programme that might yet need a bit of refinement, but which should give you a general idea of how things are likely to run:
