The PGP Training Course

A key facet of the work of the Peninsula Gospel Partnership is our Training Course.

The course is for anyone who would like to learn and grow in the Christian faith. It is especially appropriate for those involved with teaching the Bible: Sunday School teachers, ministry trainees, youth leaders, pastoral assistants, women’s workers, small group leaders, lay readers and preachers and those considering full-time Christian ministry.

The course has recently (later 2024) relocated from Exeter to Plymouth. For details, see the pictures posted here; we hope to fill in with somewhat more detail before too long, perhaps with some feedback from the current course members.

Fees are still maintained at (the pre-COVID level of!!) £60 per student per term.

And there’s a further development, detailed here by Tom Brassil, the current leader of the PGP group:

We are piloting a new delivery of the regular PGP course in Autumn 2026 (alongside the regular one). After the fashion of the Sussex Gospel Partnership, we’re kicking off a 2-year course that will run one Saturday morning per month. Over the course of the 2 years we will cover the equivalent of Year 1 of the longstanding PGP course. See below for some more shareable info:

PGP exists to encourage and equip people into Bible-teaching, Christ-exalting, people-loving ministry across the Peninsula. To that end, the PGP training course has been running for over 2 decades to equip men and women for ministry. We recognise that for many in our churches it is not possible to give a morning per week throughout the year, so we are launching a new delivery of the training this September: PGP-Lite!

The PGP-Lite course will run one morning per month, 9:30-13:30, usually on the second Saturday of every month. The venue is still to be confirmed, but it will be in Plymstock.
